Bay Arts Alliance is developing a major arts festival that will put Bay County on the map as an arts location.
Cities around the world have created festivals for murals, street painting, projection art, light installations, and music. But no one has combined them all into one big arts festival.
That's what we're going to do.
Residents have wanted murals in downtown historic Panama City for a long time. Flluxe will jumpstart mural creation using local and artists from neighboring states to create murals that will bring art-loving tourists to town to watch their creation and see the finished artworks.
The Visual Arts Center used to host an annual street painting festival called Madonnaro. We're bringing the festival back as a part of Flluxe. At least one professional street artist will be brought to town to teach a class, and have a featured spot during the festival, joining local and visiting artists in painting the streets with colorful art.
Public Eye Soar has been our local digital projection festival for over five years. Flluxe will work with their team to incorporate projection art and light installations into our festival. Local and international art and custom projection and light installations will cover downtown in constantly changing artworks for two nights.
We will also be working with local singers and songwriters to include live music throughout the day and into the night.
Mark your calendar for the week of March 6 and 7, 2020, and come to downtown Panama City to enjoy art and music all day and into the night!
